Diaries of Disappointment (Lessons for Life)

So, Sneha was sitting with a 2nd class girl when she saw that a boy sitting right in front was bullying the girl and not sharing window. So Sneha went ahead and pushed the window for little girl's share and because she pushed a little hard, the boy's finger got hurt. Seeing this, boy's sister (Muskan) came forward from the other end of bus and provoked Sneha for a fight. At the end of it all, both the girls ended up bruised.

Hence, now, we were expecting to see Muskan's parents at our home because they are pretty pissed at Sneha about the whole incident.

Scene:
(Bell rings)

Sneha opens the door and greets Muskan's parents.

Parents of both the families greet each other and that's it.

Firing starts from Muskan's parents and suddenly the volume and heat in the room rises. She accuses (to be taken literally) Sneha of being the don of class etc etc. and when the things clear up, after multiple rounds of one on one conversations, to bring out the truth that the boy was actually bullying the girl, she says, "had it been your sister, we would not have questioned! but why the hell did you go and took side of that girl when you did not know her!"(though it is of no consequence, allow yourself to translate verbatim)
At this, Sneha's parents nod their heads in agreement and ask her to stay out of other's affairs.

Scene Ends (For me, atleast.)

I took leave and came to my room wandering upon changing values. I grew up being told and taught to help whoever in need. I could not help be 'sad', in witnessing the movement from worse to worst, in deteriorating value system and in the fears/incidents that force parents to teach their kids something like this.

Disappointing, isn't it?
